Here we are 21 days into 2016, more half way through the first month of the year. I wanted to take a minute and check in with you all and see how your 2016 is going so far? SO many times we set goals and 'resolutions' for ourselves with the start of a new year and then after a week or so they fizzle out. Was this you? If not, give yourself a pat on the back or if you're thinking why did I set these unrealistic goals and how do I stop doing them but I kind of want to see the results. Which ever spot you find yourself in, this message is for you! Even if you're swimming along doing well in your goals!
Here's something to think about. What if we canned our 'new year's resolution' list and created something more meaningful? Are you excited every time you look at that list? Or do you dread the thought of noticing it in-case you're not keeping up with your expectations you set.
I'd like to share with you something that I'm working on finalizing for myself for this year. What I'm creating for myself is a yearly bucket list. Instead of a life bucket list, this one you do for the year. You may also call it your yearly life list or whichever you prefer. It's for you! It's a reminder of things you want to do, check them off as you go, document them, and use the list for ideas when you're feeling ready to tackle something. It's a feel good list, do-able list and if you don't you will not beat yourself up over it! There is no limit or requirement on the length of your list, do what you feel is right! Best of all, there are NO RULES to creating it! Have fun!
If you're in need of inspiration, I recommend checking out Tal Gur's 1,000 bucket list ideas. So often people create a list for the new year and fall flat on their face. It's kind of like quitting something cold turkey, it's hard to do and maintain. Many times it doesn't work and you don't feel good about it. If you're like me and haven't figured out exactly what your yearly bucket list should have on it, that's OK. It's not too late! Start again and when it's right, write it down and use it as a reminder for your year. If you're brave, share it with the world!
For those of you who are winning at your resolutions, keep going and I'm cheering you on. If you've already made a yearly bucket list, I'm sending you a BIG HUGE hug! Rock on, friends!
I'd love to hear how your year is going and your thoughts on bucket lists!
