A Sweet Homemade Holiday GiftSunday, December 06, 2015
When the holidays approach, our family gets inspired by the season and fun flavors to try different variations of delicious goodies. My favorite ingredient to try is anything with peppermint in it! Peppermint white chocolate mocha, candy cane tea or our new favorite, chocolate peppermint fudge. I love to make special gifts for friends and family. I really enjoy being crafty and time in the kitchen for me is really therapeutic. Today I'm teaming up with Nestle Toll House and sharing with you a super easy fudge recipe that makes enough to gift to a handful of friends!
Chocolate Peppermint Fudge
You will need:
2 bags of Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels (4 cups of morsels)
2 14oz cans of sweetened condensed milk (I used the regular and not low-fat)
1/4 tsp -- 1/2 tsp of peppermint oil
6 candy canes for crushed topping
First, prepare a 9x13 pan and line it with aluminum foil. Next, spray non-stick spray on aluminum foil and set aside. Next, find a good sized pot and add both bags of Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels into the pot along with 1 and 1/2 cans of sweetened condensed milk. Turn to medium heat and slowly melt all ingredients together. When they are melting together smoothly, add in your peppermint oil and stir. Once ingredients are fairly smooth, pour/scoop into your greased 9x13 pan. You will need to spread and move around a bit so it's even in the pan. It cools quickly so don't take too much time. Next, take your crushed candy canes and sprinkle over the top of the fudge evenly. You could also add crushed walnuts or whatever sounds good to you. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Once your fudge has set, feel free to start nibbling and gifting it away! Your friends and family will love it and want more! So many people find comfort in the special treat of a homemade gift.
