Beauty Product Review: NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash

Thank you to Neostrata for sponsoring today's post! All opinions herein are my own.
As a friend of an esthetician, I understand that glycol is a product that is used a lot in the spa industry. When I had the opportunity to try out this wash, I told my friend and her first question was, "what is the percentage of glycol?" The answer to that is 18%. She thought that was great! I was excited to try this one out!

My first impression of this stuff was a positive one as I'm a fan of foam. The second thing that perked my interest was the words 'enhances skin clarity and texture.' I knew that my skin would love a product like this because it would like to be clear. Whose skin wouldn't?

After trying this a few times per week, I really liked the results! It cleared up my trouble areas on my face. It didn't burn when using it either! You would hardly know it's on your skin because it's very gentle. For those in the know, NeoStrata has been a favorite for years! Why, you might ask? NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash is a potent, pH-balanced facial cleanser formulated with 18% Glycolic Acid and 2% Lactobionic Acid to smooth skin texture, unclog congested pores and stimulate cell renewal. Recommended experience Glycolic Acid users, this soap-free face wash prepares skin for optimal benefits of the regimen that follows.

How to use: Twice a day, pump a moderate amount of foam into hands. Apply to wet skin and cover entire area. Rinse with water.

What is glycolic acid?
This alpha-hydroxy, also known as AHA, is derived from fruits. It helps promote quicker skin cell turnover by sloughing off dead cells. This keeps the skin appearing even-toned and fresh, and also prevents dead skin from clogging pores and causing pimples. Glycolic acid additionally stimulates collagen and elastin production, which is helpful as an anti-aging treatment. The amount of exfoliation that occurs depends on how much and which kind of AHA being used, its pH level, and other materials used in the product. Using a glycolic face wash can lessen wrinkles, rejuvenate skin, minimize acne scarring, and it helps medicine penetrate better and work more effectively. "I often recommend patients use it with other medications for acne," says Dr. Fox., a medical director for a skin care clinic. However, he suggests you don't use glycolic face wash and lotion together; choose one or the other.
