Quote of my day

With our upcoming move, I created this reminder to help in aiding things to go about a bit more smoothly. It's been difficult to sort through our belongings and narrow down what to bring and what to part with. So far, progress has been fair but I wish I had more urge to just purge it all! Any tips? I'd love to hear them!

One side note is that I'm currently gathering things to have a garage sale -- I'd love tips for that too! =)

Happy Holiday Weekend to those of you in the U.S.A!

  1. Letting go of things is so hard for my husband, but we have come up with a few tricks to let things go. Like empty a shelf and as you go through your belongings set things on the shelf you aren't sure that you can let go of but think you should. As you add things to the shelf over a couple of weeks the more you add and the more you look at the items the easier it will be to distinguish between what is a keeper and what isn't.
Another tip is to take photos of things you don't need but want to remember, like your child's drawing or another funny coffee mug you just don't need.

    Good luck!

  2. Great tip Alli! I'm a results kind of girl and don't think I could wait the 2 weeks but I could totally do this over the weekend in my bathroom. Also, the photography thing -- LOVE it! =)

  3. So true!
Garage sale tips--have good signage getting to your sale! When I'm garage sale hunting I"m always baffled by poor signage. My favorite signs are those that are used liberally (more signs the merrier), use the same bright neon color (not white), and have bold directional arrows. Also, I think display is pretty important! Not having to sort through boxes and piles is a huge plus. Hope you have a great turnout!

we like to hear you say hello. =) don't be shy.
