Road Trip Part II: Palm Springs, California

Monday, January 14, 2013

Last week I promised I'd share more snippets of our road trip and first up is Palm Springs, California. Palm Springs is such a beautiful place! We arrived here at night and my camera was tucked quietly in our trunk so I didn't get any good night shots. ( I know that's a terrible excuse, sorry Palm Springs!) Arriving at night is stunning here as the streets are lined with hundreds, maybe thousands of lit palm trees flanking each side of the road. It's truly magical! Since I've never been to Palm Springs I wasn't really sure what to expect once I awoke the next day. When I peeked my head out of our hotel room, I was shocked. I couldn't believe the magnitude of the mountains so close to us and the beauty of the palms everywhere.

Here are a few photos from our few days in Palm Springs:

We stayed here for only two days but we took in so much! I will definitely be back here again one day! As shown above, we checked out a few of the notable modern homes including Frank Sinatra's Twin Palms residence and the famous Kaufmann Desert House by Richard Neutra. The boldness and vitality in this city could keep anyone here, we almost didn't want to leave. To top it off, you can find just about anything you need around these parts. We drove past the brightly doused Saguaro Hotel on our way to a delicious juice bar on our final day and got fueled up for our trek out of California into Arizona. What a lovely time it was!

That's all for today! I'll continue sharing more snippets over the next week!

peace, love & palms,
R

  1. I've never been to Palm Springs but I've always wanted to go & stay at the Ace Hotel! My sister and her husband went there on their honeymoon (and for their first anniversary) and they have nothing but amazing things to say about it. There is so much to do in California!
