Thankful.

This past weekend was a nice and relaxed one. Rarely does it happen where we aren't venturing off somewhere or running in the rat race of our everyday life. Sometimes you need to decompress, do nothing and just take t h i n g s   s   l   o   w  .

This is a mini list of my weekend adventures.

1. Hung out with my husband in our living room and had a few Kahlua mudslides while our little man was fast asleep. We NEVER get to do this because the little one always wants us to go to bed when he does. We had a great time chatting without any distractions, including the television!

2. I got to sleep in! Other Moms can probably relate to me on this one that there is no way you can sleep in until 9:30A.M. on any given day with a young child. Right? Well, I did and I got to snuggle my little boy at the same time. I love when I can do this! There's nothing else quite like it in the world.

3. I made a list of groceries we needed. I figured if I made a list that I would go to the store and only buy what is on the list. I always tend to end up with more than I went in for and that means more money is spent on things that are not necessary. While on my way to the grocery store I just happened to be driving by Aldi. I've only been there once before so I thought that maybe I should try it out again as it's been years since I've gone. What an experience it was! The store was jam packed with people and you literally had to stay going with the flow of traffic to get through the store. I pulled out my handy little list and was able to surprisingly get all but 4-5 things on it. My normal essentials from our regular grocery store are never under $100 so I was real surprised at checkout when the clerk told me $39.99. I couldn't believe it! I guess the non ease of getting through the aisles more than made up for the total of my groceries.

4. French press coffee. That is all! MMMMM!

For these little things, I am thankful. I'm also thankful for a great weekend. If I could share with you 4 tips from my weekend, it would be these.

  4. Looks like an awesome weekend. And I am so super jealous that you got to sleep in. I love when my mom takes Jacob for a night and I get to sleep past 6:30 am. Thank goodness for under-eye concealer and coffee.

I've never been to Aldi (or maybe I have and don't remember), but I think I'd rather spend more money and not be bothered by people and traffic flow at the store. Maybe that's because i'm the most inefficient shopper ever and I'm always running back and forth because I forgot stuff. Oh well...looks like you made out very nicely! Go buy yourself something nice with your savings :)

    1. I honestly felt bad for sleeping in but I rarely get the chance so I took full advantage of it!

As for Aldi- while in the store I told my son that I'm never coming here again.. and then at checkout I felt a relief from all the chaos when I saved a good $60! :) We'll see how often I end up shopping there.

  6. Glad you got to sleep in...that's my favorite thing about the weekend. My husband gets up with my son and I get a few extra zzz's. Love that you and your hubby had a wonderful night in!

    1. Aren't those extra zzz's so needed every once in awhile? I was needing the extra refreshment, my eyes were looking terrible!

  7. I so totally agree. Unplugging, turning off your alarm, and just having some time to yourself and with those you're closest to is so essential to my happiness. Also, I love ranunculus :)
