Follow-up Friday!

by - Friday, June 22, 2012

Hello lovelies! The end to another week is today and the weather here in Minnesota is beautiful, I couldn't ask for much more. What a week it's been my friends, it went by incredibly fast and I'm not complaining about it in the least! Wednesday was the first official day of summer, yay! Another big YAY in our neck of the woods is a big accomplishment of our little boy. He has finally mastered the art of the 'potty.' This has been a long time coming, seriously. He is 3 and we've been waiting for a good 6 months on this feat. Congrats to my little man, we're so proud of him!

On another note, I'd love to share some links that I've enjoyed this week and a deal you'll not want to miss out on!

  • First up is the Ugglebo clogs huge Midsummer Sale - Up to 50% off folks through today. I just ordered my first pair (hopefully they're trekking quickly to my doorstep) and I couldn't be more excited! Stop on over to get a deal and to see what the Midsummer festival is all about.
  • I came across this beauty profile website from Julie at Olivine's Charm school and really thought that it explains a lot. Every woman falls into one of four types of beauty and should dress accordingly. Check it out here for more information. You can get free videos delivered to your inbox however to get all the goods you do have to pay.
tea

  • Tea drinking on a dock overlooking lilypads on a pond/lake. Just lovely! I could do this for hours.
  • This week I discovered this lovely magazine called Whole Living (body+soul in balance). I know it's been awhile since I've been to Barnes & Noble however, how could I have been so in the dark about this magazine? I loved it! Have you read it or subscribed to it??
  • After meeting a friend for coffee and discussing the Master Cleanse, I had to google it and see what it was all about. You drink this tea like drink for 10 days and that's all you ingest for 10 days. It cleans out your system and is the clean slate you need for a change of pace. My friend had been doing it for 5 days when we met and her skin was glowing and she looked great! Have you ever done a cleanse like this?? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

  • Swimming in the rain in such a beautiful place! I couldn't help sharing this! What a lovely photo!

  • I came across this recipe for vegan ice cream from the Never Homemaker and oh my gosh -- do I need to try this or what? Looks so delicious!
  • Lastly, this little blog is so close to reaching 100 lovely followers! I'm so thrilled that so many people have connected with us! Look forward to a giveaway once we hit the lucky number.

Wishing everyone a lovely, lovely weekend!

  4. I did the master cleanse a few years ago, but I only did it for five days. I've been a vegetarian for 16 years, so it didn't take nearly as long to clean my body out, so to speak. It was a neat experiment, but I wouldn't do it again. It's hard not to eat anything when you're so busy. And while it's true that I wasn't necessarily "hungry," (cause the lemon cayenne syrup drink curbs your hunger), I did get SO SICK of that drink that being hungry sounded better than sucking another one down.

There are so many great cleanses out there--I'd do another one, but this time I'd pick one that involved a lot more nutrients. There are some really interesting juice cleanses that are actually pretty healthy. And Gwenyth Paltrow has a cleanse . . . can't remember what it's called, but it's super clean eating and worth looking into if you're interested in doing a cleanse!
